Poke Around and Learn: No‑Code AI Projects Boost Critical Thinking
As AI shapes decisions everywhere, learners beyond computer science need practical AI literacy. But too often, lessons are code-heavy or lecture-only—hard to access and easy to remember.
A new study of AI User, a modular, no-code web curriculum, shows another path. Researchers reviewed Projects 5–8 on natural language, computer vision, decision support, and responsible AI. Fifteen community-college instructors completed the projects, then shared feedback in structured discussions.
"I like that you have to poke around."
- Exploratory tasks spark inquiry and critical thinking.
- Role-based simulations make trade-offs visible.
- Real-world scenarios boost relevance for non-STEM students.
- Balance freedom with guidance to manage cognitive load and diverse needs.
Bottom line: inclusive, experiential, no-code AI activities can scale across disciplines—without diluting rigor.
